At the time Columbia Sportswear was expanding, they wanted to branch out into three industrial buildings adjacent to their location on Hwy 26. However, the buildings were not on the market, so they turned to Melvin Mark broker Tim Parker to help initiate the situation. Tim helped them prepare an offer to present to the buildings’ current owners, Electro Scientific Industries (ESI). In the end, the deal unfortunately fell through. But Tim stayed alert to the properties and a few years later in 2019, he was able to re-present the buildings to Columbia Sportswear when ESI was acquired by MKS Instruments.
Columbia Sportswear and MKS Instruments came to an agreement, and Columbia Sportswear was able to expand its campus footprint.
